Tarmac rolls out 80% recycled content in plastic bag packaging

More than half a million bags were tested to confirm the upgraded packaging held the same strength, durability and performance, with no change to product quality or handling.

The packaging was developed with supplier RKW Group.

Around 80% of Tarmac’s bagged products, including the Mastercrete and Postcrete lines, are moving to the higher specification after onsite trials at Tunstead Cement Works, the firm’s largest packed products facility.

This is a step up from the previous 50% recycled content.
