35 UK universities partner in new defence alliance
The alliance will boost skills and research in robotics, artificial intelligence, aerospace engineering and manufacturing.
Members of the Defence Universities Alliance will strengthen connections between academia and the defence sector, helping to support a pipeline of skilled graduates into careers.
In doing so, the initiative aims to ensure young people leave university ready for work, with a bridge between study and employment. It forms part of the government’s £182mln defence skills package.
The UK also recently announced five Defence Technical Excellence Colleges, backed by £50mln to boost skills in advanced manufacturing, engineering and technology while driving growth across the UK.
