We are writing to extend a warm invitation to you to participate in the Young Persons' Lecture Competition (Hong Kong Heat) 2024, organized by IOM3(HK). This prestigious event aims to foster knowledge sharing and cross-industry exposure among young scientists and engineers in the fields of Materials, Minerals, Mining, Packaging, Clay Technology, Wood Science, Science, and Engineering.
Key Details of the Event:
- Date and time: Evening of 19 September 2024
- Platform: Zoom
- Eligibility: Open to all students and professionals aged 28 or under on 1 June 2024
- Topic: Any aspect of Materials, Minerals, Mining, Packaging, Clay Technology, Wood Science, Science, or Engineering
- Abstract Submission Deadline: 30 August 2024 (Click here for nomination and abstract submission)
- Presentation Duration: 12-15 minutes, followed by a Q&A session with the judging panel
- Prizes:
• Winner: $1500HKD and IOM3 membership application sponsorship;
• 1st Runner-up: $1200HKD;
• 2nd Runner-up: $800HKD;
• HKD50 coffee coupon for all shortlisted participants
To join the competition, please submit an abstract of no more than 150 words related to your chosen topic by the deadline. Successful applicants will be required to deliver their presentations in English and answer questions from the judges. The winner of the Hong Kong Heat will represent our region in the YPLC final in November 2024.
