NMG Lunchtime Seminar Series: Focus on Medicines/Medical Textiles

You are invited to join us for our monthly virtual event where the focus will be on Medicines / Medical Textiles
You will hear from
Dr. Holy Morris
Using Healthcare Textiles in the Clinical Space
- As a hand surgeon, Dr Holly Morris uses healthcare textiles on a daily basis. Her PhD focused on the role of sustainable healthcare textiles, and she contributed guidance on textile use to the Green Surgery Report. She is currently a member of the Environmental Sustainability Working Group for Health Technology Assessment International and was previously Chief Medical Officer for the start-up Revolution-Zero. Holly has spoken internationally and published on both surgical and textile matters relevant to her expertise.
Dr Jonny Hunter
Modern Melt and Wet spinning fibres for medical textiles
- Jonny brings a wealth of academic credentials to the R&D department, complemented by over 10 years’ R&D experience in industry, particularly in medical devices.
Dr Faraz Fazal
3D printing of gelatin-based hydrogel for vascular tissue engineering applications
- Dr Faraz Fazal is a materials and biomedical researcher with experience in biomaterials, 3D printing, and vascular tissue engineering. He is a Research Associate at the Centre for Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. His work focuses on enhancing the biocompatibility of engineered vascular grafts by incorporating human vascular cells into gelatin methacryloyl (gelMA)-modified gelatin, a naturally derived biomaterial. The project integrates cell biology and materials science to create functional, cell-responsive constructs for vascular tissue engineering applications.
