The research career of Martino Quintavalla began several years ago during academia, with the study of materials properties and is still going on in the field of lutherie and musical acoustics in the framework of research projects and collaborations with other luthiers and researchers.

Dr Martino Quintavalla
Martino Quintavalla graduated in 2012 deom Politecnico di Milano in 2012 with a degree in Materials Engineering and received his PhD in 2015. After 3 years as post-doc researcher, he started a career asa professional luthier to build mandolins after 10 years of amateur activity.
In his work he mixes science, technology and craftsmanship to design and build classical and innovative instruments.
Since 2020 he has been teaching acoustics of musical instruments at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria del Comune di Milano and, since March 2023, a post doc researcher in musical acoustics at the University of Bergamo.
