Regional Talent Engines programme now open

The Regional Talent Engines programme is a new offer from the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Enterprise Hub that will provide a tailored programme of support to aspiring engineering and technology entrepreneurs in different regions of the UK.

This year the Enterprise Hub will deliver a Regional Talent Engine in four regions:

  • Northern Ireland (now open for applications)
  • North west England (now open for applications)
  • North east England (now open for applications)
  • Yorkshire and Humber (opening soon)

Deadline for applications: Wednesday 3 November 16:00 GMT.

Programme starts: January 2022

We are looking for individuals who have an engineering or technology idea that will help address some of today’s most pressing challenges. The programme will help participants refine their idea, make new connections, and learn the skills needed to launch a new startup. The 6 month programme includes the following support:

  • Equity free funding of £20,000 towards living and business support costs 
  • Expert mentoring 
  • Training, roundtables, and events 
  • 1-2-1 coaching 

Those eligible to apply are:

Mid- or later- career engineers or technologists who have been working in skilled jobs and are seeking a career change to start up their own business
Recent leavers from Further Education colleges (graduated since September 2016) who have a achieved a technical qualification (engineering or related subject) at levels 3-5
