The Building of an Uncompromisingly Low Carbon House Without Compromising on Construction Costs
- Dr Mike Lawrence will present a fascinating case study on the construction of a zero-carbon dwelling - demonstrating that it is possible to have your cake and eat it! Meadowcroft was built to a high specification, with exacting building performance requirements. Yet, it cost less than the median cost of a residential building in the UK. This was achieved using predominantly bio-based materials and a bio-based modular construction system, which allowed the build to be completed in 115 working days from breaking ground to occupation.
