IOM3 appoints new Chair of Commercial Activities Board

Ian Marchant CEng FIMMM will join the IOM3 Executive Board as Trustee and Chair the Commercial Activities Board from 1 December 2023.

Ian first joined the Institute through the Plastics and Rubber Institute (PRI) after graduating from Bath University with a degree in applied physics. He was a committee member with his local PRI Western Section in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Ian became a CEng in 1995 and a FIMMM in 2020.

Ian’s most recent role was Chief Operating Officer for API Group, a manufacturer and distributor of foils, laminates and holographic materials for brand enhancement of FMCG and consumer packaging.

Ian is a Fellow of the Institute, a Chartered Engineer and has a Degree in Applied Physics and an Executive MBA, both from The University of Bath, UK. Ian is currently Vice-Chair of the Trustee Board of The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, a member of the Technical Committee which advises the Trustee Board of the The Royal National Lifeboat Institution, a Non-Executive Director at The Rakem Group and he also advises a number of start-up businesses with an investment and growth focus.
