Bridgnorth Aluminium returning to 24/7 operations
The UK metal producer goes full-time in key process areas after three years of reduced operation.
The UK's last remaining manfufacturer of flat-rolled aluminium coils, as self-reported, says this increase in operations should create new employment in the town and nearby regions.
'Aluminium is taking on a far greater significance and profile as we move towards net-zero, with the material ideally suited for recycling, lightweighting and for use in batteries and renewable power generation,' explains Adrian Musgrave, Commercial Director.
Surprisingly, Musgrave says, 'The US, in particular, is a market that offers plenty of potential despite the tariffs imposed by Trump. That’s because we still have a tariff advantage and we offer customers access to material and technologies they can’t get domestically.'
The company currently employs 330 people at a 66-acre site and has recently signed up to the Shropshire Investors in Community scheme run by Shropshire Community Foundation.
