Bridging the Gap

The reality is that many of the skills employers value most, from project management and communication to teamwork and critical thinking, are rarely covered in depth at university. Bridging the Gap is a new in-person event from the IOM3 Student & Early Career Group, bringing together students, early career professionals and industry to build connections and explore career opportunities.

The evening will include talks from companies and apprentices who will speak candidly about the skills they look for and the lessons they have learnt along the way. There will also be a dedicated soft skills session covering a key topic to help you feel better prepared for life in industry: project management as well as the opportunity to network with professionals and peers across the materials, minerals, and mining disciplines.

Whether you are still studying, just starting out in your career, or looking to make your first connections in industry, this event is for you.
