The Starpack Schools competition has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2006 and we are delighted to launch a new format competition,  which has been revised to provide more briefs and greater opportunities for interaction across a wider age range, for 2024.

Starpack Schools is a competition for learners aged 9 to 17 that has been designed to

  • link to and support the school curriculum, especially Design & Technology
  • encourage young people to consider the important role played by packaging and materials
  • promote careers in the packaging industry as exciting, challenging and rewarding

The three briefs for secondary schools have separate categories for years 7 & 8, 9 & 10 and year 12 and the submission requirements vary for each category to differentiate between the learning level of the students.

A new brief for primary schools has been included to introduce a younger audience to the importance of sustainability in packaging.  This can be run as a one-day event, over a number of lessons, or as an extracurricular STEM club activity.

The briefs are live and registration is open to allow you to build the competition in to your scheme of work.  You must register your interest in taking part.
