This one-day course has been developed by the Joint Advisory Board and is designed for operators of quarries to understand and manage environmental issues on a day-today basis and includes specific infomration on key issues including energy, waste, site management, biodiversity and pollution issues for your quarry. The completed course counts as 7 hours towards your CPD submission.
This course will:
- Provide an overview of environmental sustainability and understand best practice
- Give specific information on key issues including energy, waste, site management, biodiversity and pollution issues
- Understand some of the main compliance issues associated with the environmental impacts of quarries
- Present practical guidance to help you incorporate this knowledge into your team onsite and support your colleagues
The course is split in to five parts:
1. Quarries and environmental legal issues
2. Preventing pollution
3. Resource efficiency – energy, waste and water
4. Site management – wildlife and trespassers
5. Practical activity
