Starpack 2016 Industry winners announced

On 15 September, winners of the 2016 Starpack Industry Awards were presented with their awards at a ceremony at London Olympia as part of London’s leading packaging show, Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging.

The Coca-Cola Bow (pictured) by Pulse Flexible Packaging Limited took both a Gold Award in the drinks category, and won the Best in Show – Business to Consumer Award, sponsored by FMCG News. The Coca-Cola Bow design boasts a show-stopping label that pulls apart and creates a decorative bow on the package.

Barry Bleasdale, Sales and Marketing Director at Pulse Flexible Packaging Limited commented, “We are absolutely thrilled. It’s been a huge effort from Pulse Packaging and Coca-Cola to develop the product, and get it out there. We have entered Starpack for a number of years and think it is a good medium for showcasing the best innovations.”

Best in Show – Business to Business Award went to JLR Bumper Packaging by DS Smith for the new design that allows efficient transportation of bumpers worldwide. Judges were impressed by the attention to detail and new features that enhanced previous offerings, including the improved handling.

The Starpack Awards are in the 58th year and are organised by IOM Communications Ltd and endorsed by The Packaging Society, a division of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3).
