David Eaves wins SWMA Lecture Competition Heat
The South Wales Materials Association local heat of the Young Persons' Lecture Competition once again proved to be an enjoyable evening with interesting and varied presentations. The event held at Swansea university on February the 16th attracted regular and new members alike, all of whom enjoyed presentations on subjects such as improving corrosion resistance of steels, solar cell technology and processing of electrical steels.
Commenting on the success of the night, organiser Samantha Cashmore said ‘The standard of tonight's presentations was excellent and it is always enjoyable to watch enthusiastic young members talk so passionately about their areas of work'.
The heat winner David Eaves gave an excellent presentation on controlling corrosion in metallic coated steel, discussing the benefits of using various inhibition techniques. David now goes forward to compete in the South West heat in the coming months.
