Event report - Mark Wilkins' talk on the Air Ambulance
SWWPG would like to extend our thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the thoroughly successful annual Dinner Lecture on the evening of Thursday 22 March 2012.
Mark Wilkins, a highly experienced military and commercial helicopter pilot, delivered a very interesting talk on the County Air Ambulance Trust and the Air Ambulance.
One of the founder members of the charity that started with one helicopter in 1991, and which now has a total of six covering the entire West Midlands area, Mark is an exceptional speaker, and during his talk we heard about the evolution of the helicopter, and the technical challenges that were systematically overcome to realise one man’s dream.
We learned how the helicopter works and exactly how challenging they are to fly and manoeuvre. In combination with his great sense of humour, his description of many a gritty reality were in perfect harmony, and his talk was very well received by our audience.
26 members of the SWWPG and guests attended and at the end of the evening just under £100.00 was raised as a contribution to the County Air Ambulance Trust
I’d thoroughly recommend Mark to anyone who needs a presenter with a fascinating talk that will entertain and educate their audience, and donation to this charity is a thoroughly worthwhile cause, which may one day save your life, or the life of someone that you know.
