Ken Barraclough Memorial Lecture

10 Mar 2020
Sheffield

This years Ken Barraclough Memorial Lecture will be a joint presentation given by  Professor John Moreland, University of Sheffield and Millie Rajice who will talk about Discovering Sheffield Castle - Excavation and Analysis, 1927-2020.

The Presentation will show how the three most recent extensive archaeological investigations have provided new insights into the life (and afterlife) of Sheffield Castle. The commercial, large scale investigation contributed to the knowledge of the site and its environs.  Key findings reveal new evidence and show  what has changed in our approach to record, restore and re-use this important element in Sheffield’s pre-industrial – and industrial heritage.

The lecture will be followed by the MEMBERS’ DINNER.  The details are below. If you wish to attend please fill in the attached form at the bottom of the page & return it to Ken Ridal

Members are limited to one dinner guest.  Please return the attached reservation as soon as possible and by 6th March.  The menu is similar to recent years and represents excellent value at £24, including three course dinner plus coffee, with table wine.
