• LGBT in STEMinar takes place in January 2020

    IOM3 is pleased to be supporting and exhibiting at the LGBT in STEMinar event held by the University of Birmingham, UK, on 10 January 2020. This is a one-day annual research conference celebrating the work of STEM researchers who identify as LGBTQ+. The event is free to register. Come along to see the IOM3 stall in the common area.

    Since around the 1990s, the IOM3 information services team has been working hard on gathering research into women who made their mark in materials and minerals and who were part of the Institute’s long-standing history dating back 150 years. IOM3 is pleased to have now feature eight inspiring females on the Heritage Stairway based at the IOM3 London office.

    On Friday 8 November, following the highly successful 50 years of Steel Alloy Design conference, the winners of the Iron and Steel Society awards for 2019 were presented with their medals at a ceremony held at the Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield, prior to attending the SMEA Annual Dinner.
  • IOM3 launches first TCB annual forum

    On 12 November, IOM3 held its first Technology Communities Board Annual Forum in London. The aim of the forum was to introduce technical communities and divisional chairs to the Strategic Advisors and for the various IOM3 divisions to share best practices, challenges and to help shape the Institute’s events calendar going forward.
