It is with deep disappointment that IOM3 has today announced that 12th European Electric Steelmaking Conference (EEC) scheduled to take place at The Diamond, University of Sheffield (16–18 September 2020), will be postponed until 12–14 September 2021, following the escalation of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Following the UK Government advice, uncertainty and with our delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and employees’ wellbeing our main priority, it is right that we to postpone the conference until next year.

This is not a decision we have taken lightly, and we are determined that the event planning for 2021 will continue; focused on delivering a bigger and better event than ever before.

IOM3 and the EEC organising committee will be working hard over the next 16 months to deliver a successful EEC 2021 event and hope everyone will join us next year for the forum at which steelmakers, product specialists, and all other parts of the steel sector supply chain (including the academic community and research and technology organisations) can come together to share information and exchange knowledge.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the industry for their understanding and in these difficult and challenging times.

New deadlines will be posted on the website in due course. If you have any questions on enquiries regarding this, please contact Chelsea.Wallis@iom3.org or call 0207451 7332

Further details on the future event will be found on the website at www.eec2020.org
