Support for members
Although the some of the restrictions imposed in response to the COVID-19 are beginning to ease and life is starting to return to some normality, the economic impact of the 100 day lockdown is starting to be felt with people being made redundant or finding themselves economically inactive. The Institute is aware that the foreseeable future will be difficult for a number of its members and is here to help those who find themselves in this unfortunate situation. The Institute has a career break rate for its membership fees of £41, while individuals who have been in continuous membership for two years or more may seek support from the Members’ Benevolent Trust to pay their membership fees. This is a benefit of your membership, which over the years you have contributed to through your paid membership fees.
In support of members enhancing their professional credentials, we are running a series of online and free to attend workshops to help people apply for Chartered Engineer (CEng). Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), Chartered Scientist (CSci) and Fellow (FIMMM). There is also the opportunity to be paired with a mentor to guide you through this process. In addition, we are extending our mentoring programme, to put members in touch with other members from the same technical discipline for potential guidance or just a professional chat.
Members who are interested in learning more about these activities should contact us firstname.lastname@example.org – your Institute is here to help you.
