TIMBER 2020 goes virtual

27 Aug 2020

This year for the first time, Timber 2020 will be a completely virtual conference, meaning you can gain knowledge and new connections from the comfort of your home. The move to a virtual event presents some new opportunities for the way that the conference will be structured, and we are sure we can maintain full participation by delegates, with a range of styles of discussion, networking and social activity sessions.

You'll be able to access Timber 2020 from your mobile, tablet or desktop via our unique virtual conference platform.

The conference programme features an excellent selection of high-quality presentations, from expert researchers, educators and companies. Conference delegates will be provided with visual and written resources before the event, allowing them to view some content ahead of time and thus get maximum benefit from participation in the interactive features of the online event on the day.

This conference will span all topics related to timber – from the largest structures to the smallest models of the influence of ultrastructure on performance. Topics will range from preservation to panel products – modified wood to engineered lumber.

Key themes that will be explored across both days include:

  • Structures
  • Visualisation, sensing and modelling
  • Education
  • Properties of wood, bamboo and composites
  • Applications and future challenges
  • Wood modifications
  • Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency
