Nominations for the 2020 Charles Hatchett Award are open with a closing deadline of 1 December 2019.

The Charles Hatchett Award was originally conceived at a meeting in 1977 between Friedrich Heisterkamp, the then Head of the European Office of CBMM, Dr. Malcolm Gray, technical adviser to CBMM’s niobium technical development programme and Dr Bob Keown OBE, who was an independent metallurgical consultant to CBMM.

The International Panel is currently in the process of identifying suitable papers related to the science and technology of niobium for consideration for the 2020 Charles Hatchett Award. In addition to receiving the prestigious Charles Hatchett Medal from IOM3 in London, Award winners will have the opportunity to visit the CBMM mine in Araxá, Brazil.
