Full line-up of speakers announced for the PVC industry's premier conference

26 Nov 2019

PVC 2020 continues to build on the reputation of this world-leading triennial conference series, delivering a comprehensive and varied programme of international speakers, high-quality papers and exceptional networking opportunities.

The conference boasts an impressive line-up delivering a current, comprehensive and wide ranging technical programme of original papers. The opening address will be presented by Mark Miodownik MBE FREng FIMMM, a Materials Engineer and Professor of Materials and Society at University College London.

Mark’s talk on ‘Innovating with the public’ will explore the history of the public’s relationship with plastic – the origins of the present breakdown in trust, and discusses a new relationship between public and industry as a new way forward. Using PVC as an example, Mark will outline how the economic and environmental advantages of a circular economy will be realised through a partnership between the public and industry and explore how we can build such partnership with clear two-way communications at its centre.

Alongside Mark, Iain Gulland from Zero Waste Scotland will also present the second keynote presentation. Iain has more than 25 years’ experience in sustainable resource management. Iain will present his keynote talk on ‘Switching to a circular economy – good for the planet and the plastics industry.

The conference will then continue with over 70 topical papers covering:

  • Innovation and the Circular Economy
  • Strategy, Direction and Global Markets
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Machinery and Processing Technology
  • Plastisols and Flexible PVC
  • Additives
