Well what a difference a year makes. Packaging Innovations 2018 at the NEC was hit by Beast from the East, which limited travel and hence numbers of visitors. 2019 saw a mild February and a busy show.

The Packaging Society was well represented by both IOM3 staff and members, helping out with the Packaging Consultancy Clinic, (pictured left) a complimentary clinic offering free advice on packaging solutions. Delegates were given the opportunity to pre-book clinic appointments to talk to experts from the Packaging Society on any aspect of packaging, with plastics, as you would expect, a hot topic. The stand was busy on both days with up to four clinic sessions running concurrently throughout the show opening times and more than 30 people attending the formal session over the two days. New members signed up, as individuals and companies, interested in the Packaging Training courses as well as help and advice on all aspects of packaging, linking into the Big Debate on plastics. IOM3, through various networks, can discuss these issues impartially, cutting through the politics and sticking to the technical facts.

A big thank you to all staff and members of IOM3 for their hard work and efforts, and we look forward to the London Packaging Innovations event being held at Olympia 11–12 September 2019.
