IOM3 National Archive welcomes new collection

Last year the Institute received an offer from member Bill Coles to incorporate the Firth Brown Tools Ltd Speedicut Reference Library courtesy of Marshalls Carbide Ltd, part of Mincon Group Plc, into the National Materials and Mining Archive at the IOM3 Grantham Centre.

International Rubber Conference – registration open

The International Rubber Conference (IRC 2019) is a three-day must attend event where delegates can learn about the technical advances in the global rubber market. Registration is now open and the conference is also calling for papers.

Materials Protecting People success

The third event of the Materials Protecting Society series, ‘Materials Protecting People’, was held at 297 Euston Road on 29 November 2018. The event organised by the Industry and Technology Policy Board – soon to become the Technology Communities Board – was attended by more than 60 delegates.

Celebrating 150 years

This year, IOM3 celebrates its 150th anniversary, tracing its roots back to 1869 when the Iron and Steel Institute (ISI) was founded as an association to address practical and scientific questions connected with iron and steel. Our mission has remained constant throughout these 150 years will so and will do into the future.
