The 2016 Starpack Student and Schools Awards were presented on 29 June at a ceremony in London.
As part of the celebrations, the Schools Award winners were taken on a routemaster for a ride on the London Eye and the Student Award winners enjoyed a BBQ and frozen cocktails provided by Whipsmiths.
Among those celebrating, were the Loughbrough University winners (pictured), who swept the board and took away 51 of the 182 prizes. Loughbrough University was also awarded the Eric DIckens Memorial Award, presented by The Packaging Society to the college which, in the opinion of the judges, has most effectively promoted education in packaging design, as represented by the quality of its winning students’ entries.
Chris Clarke, from Logoplaste, sponsors of the Starpack Awards, commented, 'We think it is important to be involved in the awards because it gives us an opportunity to work with the next generation of packaging designers, schools and students and encourage them to think about packaging design. It provides a vehicle for the next generation to come through and enables us to be close to that next generation.'
