Starpack Schools and Student Award winners announced

The Starpack Schools and Student Awards have been announced. From hundreds of entries, the judges awarded 70 Commended, 43 Bronze, 42 Silver and 15 Gold in the Students Awards and in the Schools Awards, the judges awarded 17 Commended, eight Bronze, 11 Silver and six Gold.

Loughborough University triumphed, with students winning 51 prizes of the 182 that have been awarded.

Of the schools winners, Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form, Kingston Grammar School and Reigate School of Art at East Surrey College were the biggest winners.

The Starpack Schools and Student Awards are crucial to promoting the diverse career opportunities available to packaging designers and technologists of the future. With ever-changing curriculums, it is vital that students are offered support, education and guidance in the world of packaging.

The entries in 2016 were of a very high standard and more awards have been allocated than ever before.

Winners are invited to a ceremony at IOM3 London HQ later in June to celebrate.

Pictured is Tom Chorlton's entry, from Falmouth University, who won Gold and API Sponsored Award, the prize includes one week of work experience with API to learn from industry experts. The brief was 'Einstein's Anniversary: Coin Collector’s Presentation Packaging'.
