Advanced Engineering UK took place from 11–12 November and was a very lively and well attended exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham. The composites section of the show was larger than in previous years, reflecting the continued growth of this sector.
IOM3 were represented by the British Composites Society, who provided four board members to man the stand over the two days. Each is well known and respected with the UK and European composites sector and they had many useful conversations with visitors and enquirers.
The BCS was supported by IOM3 membership, marketing and technical staff.
This combination of personnel proved to be very effective in answering the wide range of questions posed by visitors to the stand.
The show attracted exhibitors from all sectors of the sector including material suppliers, processors, tooling manufacturers and end-users. Many UK Universities involved in composites research and government agencies such as the Advanced Manufacturing Centre Catapults and the National Composites Centre was also present.
During the show twelve people saw the benefit to their careers and networking opportunities by joining the BCS.
