Starpack Winners announced
This year the entrants
in the Student Starpack Awards spanned the globe, and the schools received
entries from all across the UK. For the first time students
from Keimyung University in Korea, Saxion University in the Netherlands, Dublin
Institute of Design and South West College Omagh entered the competition.
University of Applied Science in Finland were high achievers in the
competition, with its students winning four out of the seven gold awards.

Starpack Awards are aimed at raising the profile of the packaging industry and
giving young designers the chance to create innovative products, from
Mike Baxter, External
Affairs Director at British Polythene Industries, a long-serving sponsor of
Starpack said, ‘We think Starpack is probably one of the best vehicles for
getting young people involved, not just in the creativity, but hopefully in
helping to get them to understand the key part packaging plays in the
protection and promotion of goods’.

Professionals in the
packaging industry have been invited to enter and their entries will be judged
in May. All winners will be presented with their awards in a ceremony at
state-of-the-art venue, The Boilerhouse, in Grantham on 12 July.
