Professor Sir John Beddington, the UK Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser, will be speaking at a symposium in Tokyo on Monday 30 May on the subject "Science Advice in a Crisis: Fukushima and its Aftermath". The event will be broadcast live on the internet.
The 2010 Davidge award was won by Cekdar Vakifahmetoglu for his review on the ‘Fabrication and properties of ceramic 1D nanostructures from preceramic polymers’. His article is published in Vol. 110, Issue 4, 2011 of Advances in Applied Ceramics and is freely accessible online throughout May and June 2011.
This special issue of STWJ commemorates the publication of over 1000 articles since the journal’s inception in 1996. Leading international researchers were asked to assess their subject area and speculate on future developments. The issue was published in Vol. 16, Issue 4 of 2011.
