The Local Society of the Year competition is open for entries for 2010. This competition is now in its second year.

Application forms have been sent to local society secretaries, and those who applied for a grant and submitted a 2009/2010 programme are eligible to apply. The award is judged on membership levels, events and communication. There are two classes, based on the average attendance recorded on grant application forms, which treasurers submitted in the summer – under 30, and 30 and above.

The prize is up to £1,000 to organise a prestigious event and two members of the winning local society will be invited to the Institute’s Awards Dinner in July 2010.

Applications must be sent to Sarah Boad, National Co-ordinator – Regions, by 4 December.
