The Sustainable Vehicle Engineering Centre (SVEC) at Oxford Brookes University
was recently named as part of a winning bid, led by BMW Group, for funding from the Technology Strategy Board as part of the Ultra Low Carbon Vehicle
Demonstrator Competition.  In partnership with BMW Group, Scottish and Southern
Energy and South East England Development Agency, 40 fully electric Mini E vehicles will be trialled in the Southeastern UK using real drivers chosen from the
general public.  SVEC will co-ordinate the research activities surrounding the project.  Both qualitative and quantitative data will be collected from the drivers throughout
the duration of the trial.  The subsequent data will be analysed and fed into future
electric vehicle developments.
