Entries sought for student and technician awards
The Institute-organised Royal Charter Prize, A T Green Award and R H Craven Award for graduates are seeking entries. The Technician of the Year awards are also open for nominations. The deadline for application forms for all the awards is 28 August.
The three student competitions acknowledge the
superior performance and promising potential of those graduating from UK accredited materials courses. The Charter Prize is for the best materials graduate, regardless of discipline, the A T Green Award is for excellence in ceramics, while graduates of polymer courses can enter for the R H Craven Award.
Two Technician of the Year awards are available based on the candidate's current level of study, or the course they have recently completed: the higher award is for those at Higher National qualification or foundation/ordinary degree level; and the national award for those at an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship, BTEC/SQA National Certificate/Diploma or a City and Guilds Progression Award level.
The technician awards are open to those studying, or having completed in the last two years, materials, minerals technology or related
subjects. There is no age limit.
