Entrepreneurs Award for electro-technologies

The Royal Academy of Engineering is seeking entries for its ERA Foundation Entrepreneurs Award 2009. Academic staff and researchers at an early stage in their career are invited to apply for the £10,000 cash prize and £30,000 investment in the winning project.

The Award focuses on electro-technologies such as optics and optical engineering, materials related to these technologies, and biomedical and electrical engineering. A mentor will be assigned to the winning project, which must come from a researcher at a UK university, to help its development. Two prizes of £2,000 are available to runners-up. Entries should be submitted electronically by 30 October.
