The Royal Society of Chemistry is conducting an online consultation to identify key areas for development that can help meet the future challenges for society. The worldwide roadmapping exercise opened on 16 June and runs for six weeks.

Views are sought on topics such as raw materials, energy, future cities, and lifestyle and recreation. The findings will be published in late 2008, and will generate a 5-10 year strategy for scientific and policy solutions to pressing human and environmental concerns. The report will be used to influence stakeholders and governments both in the UK and Europe.
