How do I log in or get my password?
To log in to the website and access member-only services and content, you need a username and password. Your default username is your surname followed by your membership number. The username and password/PIN from the old (pre-2015) IOM3 website no longer apply; these were reset at the launch of the new website. If you have forgotten your password go to the request new password page. You will receive an email with a one-time login link. After obtaining your login you can change your password if required.
IOM3 members will receive an email with a new login link. If you do not receive this, try using the request new password page. If this does not work, it may be because we don't have your current email address - in this case please contact the Member Services department for further assistance on firstname.lastname@example.org

What is meant by Registration?
The Institute holds licences to award various professional registrations along with Institute grades of membership:
- Science: Chartered Scientist (CSci), Registered Scientist (RSci), Registered Science Technician (RSciTech)
- Engineering: Engineering Technician (EngTech), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Chartered Engineer (CEng)
- Environment: Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)
In theory you can apply for any or all of these, subject to meeting the criteria for each, eg CSci, CEng and CEnv but not two or more levels in the same discipline, ie.EngTech + IEng + CEng.
If you are not sure which registration is the most appropriate for you, contact the Membership Department who will advise you on your options. Please use our Membership Enquiry form
Can I register my areas of interest? How does the Institute relate to these?
The Institute has Technical Divisions and Societies which act as special interest groups. These reflect the disciplines covered by IOM3.
To affiliate with one or more of these groups, log in to the website and choose your technical subjects interests under My Profile. You will then receive information about any IOM3 activities in those subject areas.
IOM3 has a network of over 50 local societies, what maybe known elsewhere as “branches” or “chapters”. Run by members for members, these provide networking at a local level via technical meetings and social get togethers as well as lecture competitions. Members are welcome to attend any meeting anywhere in the world, usually free of charge unless it involves a dinner for example. For details, visit our Local Societies pages. Alternatively contact Efi Fragkou, Head of International, through the 'local societies' option on our online enquiry form or tel 020 7451 7415.
