Hilda Kaune

Hilda is responsible for the running of the IOM3 Library now the National Materials and Mining Archive, which includes the Library and Heritage collections of the Institute. She runs the Materials Information Service (MIS) helpdesk and collaborates to projects such as IOM3 Digitisation, Events Hopper and others. Hilda also advises the Plastics Historical Society in the running of their library. She liaises with the Historical Metallurgy Society and the Engineering Institutions Librarians' Committee.

Frances Perry

Frances's main responsibility is to produce the IMMAGE database and IMM Abstracts. She is also involved with the areas covered by the minerals and mining section of the library and also secretary to the Applied Earth Science technical community board and divisional co-ordinator for the Mineral Processing & Extractive Metallurgy community board.

Geoff Hale

Geoff provides technical advice on a wide range of materials-and process selection topics (covering both metallic and non-metallic materials), with particular expertise in stainless steels and joining technologies.  Throughout his career, he has worked across a wide variety of industry sectors. He is also involved with the Industry Affiliate Scheme, and has a major involvement with IOM3’s Technical Communities, providing close support to groups covering ceramics, clay technology, construction materials, iron and steel, bulk metalforming, surface engineering, and sustainable development, while maintaining an overall awareness of most others.

David Arthur

As Project Manager of Signature Materials (part of IOM3) and a Materials Advisor, David primarily looks after the work on deterring metal theft. David's specialist areas are general metallurgy including titanium, steel, powder metallurgy, failure analysis, and materials selection. He also has expertise in casting, and joining processes. He is also involved with the Industry Affiliate Scheme.

Dr Diane Aston

As Knowledge Exchange Manager, Diane is responsible for running the Institute's 5-19 education initiatives, including the Schools Affiliate Scheme, overseeing the National Archive and Library Services and developing the flexible workshop space at the Boilerhouse in Grantham.  She has almost 20 years experience in Materials Outreach and her background is in materials science, particularly ferrous metallurgy.
