London Materials Society community activities
LMS hosts the London regional heats for the Young Persons’ Lecture Competition (YPLC), which showcases participant’s skills giving a 15-minute presentation, followed by questions from the judges.
The June Wilson award is an endowment from the late Prof. Hench (1938-2015) in commemoration of his late wife’s achievements in the field of materials research. The prize, valued at £750, will be awarded to an early career female scientist working in research in the South East of England, who has demonstrated excellence in any relevant area of materials science and engineering. The June Wilson award is open to individuals below the age of 30 or within a maximum of 5 years after their first research degree. Download further information using this link here.
