Once again the L&SEPS organised and hosted the eighth London Packaging Dinner, which for the second year in succession incorporated the 2011 Starpack Industry Awards at the fabulous Landmark Hotel, Marylebone Road London.  Over 360 guests – a dinner record - attended in black tie and posh frocks that are a feature of the event.

With the voice of the balls Alan “Deadly” Dedicoat presiding as master of ceremonies the organisation and timing was impeccable.  Ginny Jones and the team put together a fantastic event in support of Clic Sargent children’s cancer charity, the extravagantly vast black and white flower table decorations being a particular cause for celebration.  Also celebrating were the secret singers from InCognito who appeared as if from nowhere - an amazing showcase of talent.
Alan Dedicoat made the Starpack Award presentations.  For over fifty years, a celebration of the capabilities and innovation found in our industry.  Well done to all those who received awards

The charity raffle and auction contained a number of fantastic prizes including: Spa days, signed footballs, with a visit to the ITN news room a particularly interesting innovation that sold three times!  In all we managed to raise over £6200 in the auction and raffle, to boost the post dinner surplus to over £30,000.
The evening concluded with dancing to the small hours to a top London DJ.

Well done to all and our special thanks go to Marks & Spencer, the rest of our sponsors, raffle and auction prize donators and the purchasers of the auction prizes and raffle tickets.  We look forward to welcoming guests new and old for the ninth dinner on 4 October 2012.  It’s sure to be another great event!
