As our US Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing, growing and coaching a sales team (c. 6 people) to thrive in a collaborative and complex environment. This doesn’t require someone with a host of contacts, rather an experienced sales manager who can 

create a sense of energy, inspire the team and hold them to account. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a wider team searching for solutions – the platform is set for growth and there are huge untapped markets to delve into!

The incumbent must be a high engagement, high impact individual who both enjoys and is experienced with business travel and can demonstrate excellent sales leadership and account management skills. You will be working alongside experienced and knowledgeable technical specialists, and world class thought leaders and scientists! The role will be based at our site in Raleigh (North Carolina) but will require roughly 50% of your time to be on the road.

Job Purpose:

 

The primary purpose of this position is to achieve growth targets in key sales metrics such as Opportunity Pipeline and Order Intake through effective management of the US Sales team. This will include imbedding world class sales skills that take the team on the journey to a transformational sales approach, where personal coaching at client site visits is core to the development of the team. In addition, this role will require a collaborative, team player approach with technical delivery teams in the UK and USA.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Consistently achieve and exceed Sales team targets for the USA such as Opportunity Pipeline and Order Intake values.
  • Build a culture of high achievement and sales excellence in the USA Sales team, in line with the Lucideon Transformational Sales Model, through personal coaching in face-to-face and online client meetings.
  • Drive a culture of high engagement with the marketplace, including significant time on site at client meetings (c.10 days per month).
  • Ensure excellent customer advocacy through the development of high-quality account management skills with the Sales team.
  • Liaise closely with the technical and delivery teams in the USA and UK to ensure both timely engagement on customer requirements and excellent margin control from effective scoping of work.
  • Act as the Site Manager for Lucideon’s Raleigh facility, providing on-site leadership for the wider team based there; deal with any local issues with the site, etc.
  • Work closely with the Commercial and Market Development functions in the USA and UK to ensure the Sales team are conversant with Lucideon’s services and value proposition for their target markets.
  • Comply with the Company’s performance standards for items such as CRM reporting, quotation production, monthly reporting and delegated authority.
  • Such other duties as may be reasonably required by the company.

Key Person Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
