The Quality Assurance Committee monitors the performance of engineering institutions in their role as licensees and in respect of the functions they might be licensed as defined by the Engineering Council bye laws and regulations. It also reviews and makes appropriate changes to the policies and processes laid out in the Licensing Manual and Professional Affiliates Approval Manual. It acts as a conduit to the exchange of information and best practice between licensees to ensure the continuous improvement of their systems and the maintenance of overall confidence in their processes to register engineers, and maintains an overview of licensed related issues in order to maintain overall standards and transparency.

In addition, this role is ex-office to the Professional Standards and Development Board (PSDB) and will also involve attending or submitting reports to three meetings of this group each year, as well as maintaining a dialogue with the IOM3 team. All meetings of the PSDB are held virtually. 

Suitable candidates will be registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) through IOM3 and be able to demonstrate experience of licenced activity assessing for IOM3 in either accreditation or the interviewing of candidates for professional registration.
