- Are you interested in becoming involved with PERC and promoting the PERC Standard?
IOM3 is one of six professional organisations with representation on PERC and is looking for a member to join our team of volunteers who represent the IOM3 as a PERC member. Aside from making an input into the PERC Standard and acting as an advisor on specific associated projects which ensure good practice in the reporting of Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves, you will be responsible for ensuring that the needs of IOM3 members are being addressed. The time commitment will involve up to three meetings a year, and any additional “behind the scenes” involvement, whether as a representative of the IOM3, or as a subcommittee member of PERC. All related meetings are currently being held virtually, although in the future travel to a continental European destination may be required. Further background information is available from percstandard.org.
Suitable candidates will hold either the MIMMM or FIMMM grade of membership (preferably with Minerals Reporting (MR) accreditation) and have a working knowledge of the Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve reporting codes based on the CRIRSCO template.
The suitable candidate should be active in either the Applied Earth Science, Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy, Mineral Technology, or Sustainable Development Group.
An understanding of related ESG issues, GISTM and CRIRSCO member activities would be an advantage but is not essential.
If you have any questions or wish an informal discussion about the role, please email Ian Bowbrick, Director of Membership and Professional Standards at [email protected]. To apply, please send a CV and a covering letter stating why you would like the role and what qualities and attributes you can bring to it and IOM3 to the same address by 17:00 (BST) on 6 August 2021.
