Job description

The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining is a charity incorporated by Royal Charter and a major UK engineering institution. Our activities encompass the whole materials cycle, from exploration and extraction, through characterisation, processing, forming, finishing and application, to product recycling and land reuse. IOM3 exists to promote and develop all aspects of materials science and engineering, geology, mining and associated technologies, mineral and petroleum engineering and extraction metallurgy, as a leading authority in the worldwide materials and mining community.

The Institute is now seeking to recruit two volunteers to be co-opted onto the Finance Committee. With a background in finance, you will support the Committee to fulfil its responsibility for supporting the Board on financial matters, so that the Institute pursues its objects as defined in its governing and legal documents. The committee will meet four times per year.

Ideal candidates will have a financial qualification and or experience in a senior role in a finance-related environment. Strategic and forward looking vision is essential in supporting IOM3 with its aims and objectives, as is confident and effective communication skills with a range of audiences: have sound interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to respect the confidences of colleagues.
