Proper training can help you move from employee to manager

Management is an important skill in today’s business world. Without strong management, many otherwise good companies fail. And yet, while successful businesses maintain meticulous lists of candidates lining up to move into leadership roles, newly appointed managers often lack the basic management skills.

The transition to management can be challenging, calling on new practices that require preparation and adequate training. The IOM3 Certificate in Management course is designed for those about to take up their first supervisory position. It will equip individuals with the necessary solutions be an effective manager and inspire excellence across the organisation.

Throughout the year, six one-day short courses will be hosted. The Certificate in Management will be awarded on successful completion of the two mandatory courses, in addition to two of the remaining four courses. Alternatively, the courses can be studied as one-offs or in smaller combinations.

The short courses being hosted are:

·       Management skills: Performance management foundation (mandatory for the Certificate)

·       Management skills: Beyond the basics (mandatory for the Certificate)

·       Finance for non-finance managers

·       Project management fast track

·       Essential HR for non HR managers

·       Effective change management

All of the short courses will be delivered at the IOM3 Training Centre in Grantham. The site is located one mile from the A1 and has ample free parking onsite.

Paid up members of IOM3 at any grade are eligible for a discount of 15% or saving of £60 per short course. This represents a saving of £240 for those completing the Certificate. 

Each of the short courses and the Certificate in Management is quality assured by the PIABC awarding body and approved by IOM3 for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
