IOM3 Hong Kong Technical Visit

The Construction Innovation and Technology Application Centre (CITAC) was established by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) in November 2017 to explore and identify innovative techniques and technologies both locally and internationally, to improve productivity, sustainability and safety in Hong Kong's construction industry.

CITAC's inaugural exhibition is divided into five different thematic zones, namely industrialisation, informatisation, intelligentisation, which have been designed to showcase and demonstrate different construction technologies, devices and materials. For example, there is a smart helmet equipped with sensors that can monitor heart rate, body temperature and movement of construction workers. In addition, there is another exhibition, which demonstrates location tracking technology by mounting a RFID tag on a safety helmet. It can enhance the safety of construction workers in a complex and challenging environment. The current exhibition has more than 30 construction innovations on display.
