The 21st Extractive Industry Geology Conference
Registrations are open for the 21st Extractive Industry Geology Conference which will be taking place at the Peter Chalk Centre, University of Exeter, 6-9 July.
The technical conference will be sandwiched between two days of field trips to Westleigh Quarry, the secondary aggregate plant at Lee Moor china clay pit, Newton Abbott ball clay, Exeter Building Stone and Hemerdon Mine.
The main conference will feature sessions on:
- Geotechnics
- Regulation
- Resources
- Geochemistry in the minerals industry
- Resource development
- Hydrogeology
- Climate change and minerals
- Back to basics workshop
The prestigious Ansel Dunham Lecture, at the start of the conference, will be given by Dr Karen Hanghøj, Director of the British Geological Survey, who will be talking on Critical Mineral Resources for the Energy Transition.
