Composite Compositions - How Composite Materials Inspire Innovative Design

18 Nov 2010
London

Composite materials are becoming more diverse, and the design
possibilities almost limitless.  Their variety and complexity can make
them seem difficult to teach about. For this reason designers and
engineers often become familiar with composites only after they have
qualified because they are often neglected in the education mainstream
curriculum. Our home-grown talent therefore risks missing out on the
fabulous design flexibility that composites offer, and 'having a go'
within a college or FE timeframe.

This informal gallery style
evening networking event is for design educators and designers not so familiar with composites. It will showcase products showing the combination of beauty and enhanced
functionality possible with composite, and how
clever design maximises these.

Delegates will be able to touch and see products, meet some of the designers and companies behind them, and hear
about their choices and challenges. This event is for you if you are looking
for different materials to stimulate students' creativity, or
contacts to make their ideas reality.  By inspiring you with today’s composite
design excellence, we hope you’ll inspirethe next generation of
composite innovators.
