Printing for the future

The Printing and Graphic Science Group is one of a number of common interest groups of the Institute of Physics. (IOP)

The “IOP PGS Printing for the Future” conference is a single-day event dedicated to showcase recent advances in Printing & Graphic science and technology. The group organises this conference each year so students can present their work to fellow students, businesses and the public. For MSc and PhD students working with printing technologies, or using the science of graphic arts,  this is an opportunity to display their work and meet others who are working in similar fields.

Topics of the conference will include, but are not restricted to:

· Printed, organic and large area electronics
· Bioprinting
· 3D printing
· Smart packaging
· Graphic science
· Advances in printing technologies
· Novel functional printable materials
· Numerical modelling of printing and its applications
· Rheology & underpinning physics for printing & its materials.

Prizes for the best presentations are awarded on the day.

The event is organised by the PGS Group committee and the Plastic Electronics Group of the Knowledge Transfer Network. and

Likely interested parties; students working in the fields encompassed by printing and graphic sciences, companies and academics with interests in these fields and technology journalists.

We hope the students at the conference get an opportunity to meet potential employers and companies interested in their research.

Finish 4:30 pm

Presentations are sought at postgraduate level on any subject related to printing and its future. Abstracts should be max 200 words outlining research highlights to be presented to members of academia & industry as a short 10-minute oral presentation and a poster.

This event is open to all. The registration for speakers and guests is free of charge and will include lunch and refreshments. Furthermore, funds are available by the IOP PGS Group for basic travel expenses of speakers. There will be several prizes awarded for best student presentations at the conference.
