Inspection and Non-destructive Testing: an Appreciation
This course covers various theoretical as well as practical aspects of both Inspection and NDT, aimed at people who request or prepare equipment for Inspection and NDT activities to be carried out. It is a 2 day course, covering all the common NDT techniques, including the "how and why" it is done, practical hands-on work for the participants under close supervision, as well as real problems.
Techniques include dye penetrant flaw detection, magnetic particle flaw detection, ultrasonic thickness testing, simple ultrasonic flaw detection, eddy current testing, and possibly even radiographic interpretation.
This course is aimed primarily at our Clients, helping them to understand the techniques we use and the difficulties encountered in using the NDT methodologies appropriate to various site plant and equipment. By getting “up close and personal” with these techniques, we hope to be able to enlighten Engineers, Planners and such like as to the prerequisites of crack detection, flaw detection and thickness testing.
