Winner of the Defence, Safety and Security Committee photographic competition announced
On 25 November 2011 the Defence, Safety and Security Committee of the Institute closed its doors on a very successful photographic competition.
The theme of the competition was “materials in defence, safety and security” and it was open to both institute members and non-members alike, at the deadline, 63 high quality entries had been submitted by 30 entrants from 12 different countries.
Following a very difficult judging session by the Defence, Safety and Security Committee members a winner and two runners-up were eventually chosen.
The winner is Eldhy Hendrawan from Indonesia with the winning photograph entitled ‘Bulletproof Materials Made from Ramie Fiber (BioComposite)’ and the two runners-up are Brian Pflanz from the USA and Gerrit Viljoen from South Africa.
