In January the Construction Materials Group (CMG) of IOM3, held its first meeting for 2017 at VINCI Technology Centre in Bedfordshire.

The aim of the forum is to organise events, talks and workshops to help the exchange of information, knowledge and industrial practise on all aspects of construction materials and products. The main scope of the group is to focus on professional and technical issues relating to production, design, fitness-for-purpose, applications, cost and recycling/end-use.

During the visit, representatives of the group were given an introduction to VINCI Technology Centre, by Steve Boyd, Head of Business Excellence, followed by a tour of the UKAS accredited facilities. These include weathertightness testing for facades along with specialist acoustic, structural and material testing laboratories.
